Running the LA Marathon tomorrow…..why do they always schedule this race on the one weekend a year when it rains in LA? Not looking to set any records, just trying to finish. Speaking of finishing, final touches being put on the next NYCO release. We’re gearing up for a live recording session at the end of the month.
We’re doing an acoustic jam in Santa Monica tomorrow night!
1213 4th st. at 9pm! Come see us….it’s an incredible space and should be a great event…details to come when you arrive!
We’ve had a lot of good people letting us know that they are excited about NYCO’s upcoming release, which of course gets us excited! Of course we want to sell our record, but more importantly, we want to get our music heard. So, If you want to help us, please Tweet, Facebook, Myspace, and/or email a link to our website. If you have a friend who you think would dig our music, let them know. With an industry that no longer works via album sales alone, we need a virtual “street team” to help us spread the word!
Thanks and stay tuned…
Thanks to all who made it to the show last night, you people brought the energy to the evening….special thanks to Morgan (you blew that trombone and minds), Ultralove (your freestyle is fresh, your beat is nice), Chris (you will be NYCO’s soundman when we go on the road), and Aldo for filming the show (video on a boom? that makes me nervous). To those that bought our CDs, hope you enjoy ‘em and stay tuned for the next release!
I’ll be playing Office Days in memory of Dave DelCiello tonight…he was around when I wrote it, and we worked it out as a band at his studio, Three Pear Studios in Chicago. Come to O’Briens tonight and light a candle, or your lighter will do….
There are plenty of moments on stage that I remember with Dave DelCiello, and I’m often on stage and I think of him. He really loved music, and he was proud to be a part of NYCO. He died way too soon, and I wish I understood how it all happened.
10PM SHOW WITH CEEKA, YUKATA, AND EPIC JAM.
O’BRIENS SANTA MONICA
Flying into Chicago yesterday, I was reminded of Dave as I walked through O’Hare airport, through a terminal I’d been through with Dave over four years ago. He had a great sense of humor and we definitely had some great times together. I still don’t understand his disappearance; I’d like to know if authorities have definitive answers. Whitney Houston’s death brings to mind the scrutiny that is given to the famous upon death; it feels like most people’s passing is swept away without a lot of answers.
