Here’s an online article citing that Dave’s body was found in Lake Michigan. Police said that Dave suffered from alcoholism and depression, and may have been hallucinating at the time of his disappearance. But Dave had called his father saying that someone was breaking into his apartment. Was it proven without question that he wasn’t dragged from his apartment and thrown in the lake?

Now, Dave and I parted on bad terms; Dave’s last gigs with NYCO were on a west coast tour, and it was pretty clear that Dave was not in a good place in his mind. But I remember how witty and talented he was, and he had a lot to offer. His disappearance still is haunting, and I’d like to get some answers. I’ve done some research online, but it seems as if this is still an unsolved homicide.

Reports from the media on Dave’s disappearance didn’t give much information, but they disclosed that Dave’s last phone call was to his father somewhere around 2am. In the conversation, Dave said that he thought that someone had broken into his apartment. He was in a panic. Reports mention that Dave left his medications behind when he left his apartment, and he had several, one for anxiety. I knew Dave to have a pretty severe problem with alcohol, and if Dave was medicating and drinking, was he hallucinating that someone had broken in? Or was someone out to get him?
